Watch as I explore alternative career paths

Yesterday we officially mailed off our brief. Unfortunately when we arrived at Kinkos the guy behind the counter was too busy to do our order, so we did it ourselves. After sorting all the briefs and adding the colored covers and plasic covers we thought we needed here is

Me punching the briefs

and... Me learning how to bind the briefs.

Rachel said if there was any of my blood sweat or tears in the briefs themselves we would not be sending them, but I think the pictures speak for themselves. For the labor invested we got a 20% discount.

There's also a movie of the punching machine in action that I am sadly unable to post. It does have a gripping plot line however, and I'll be sending in a copy to the academy.

And they light up, too

Now, I have already mentioned the bad side of snow, but here's the good side. When it snows I get to wear my snowboots.

Unfortunately I bought them too late last year to really wear much.

Mine look like these, except that mine are size 3.5, rather than the size 1s being sold on eBay. My feet are small, but they are not that small

What would make a symposium on bankruptcy more fun?

How about a fire drill?
Nope, too middle school.

How about a power outage?
Nope, too common.

How about a power outage followed by a fire drill?
Nope, still not enough.

What if it's a really long power outage, like an hour and a half?
Hmm. Still not really there.

OK, how about a long power outage, followed by not one but two fire drills?
Well, now we might be talking.

Apparently this conversation already occurred, since guess what happened during the Law Review's annual symposium (on bankruptcy).

If you guessed a long power outage followed by two fire drills you win.

How does one deal with such an occurrence?
If one is smart one waits in the room for as long as possible until the fire alarms are called off, therefore avoiding having to walk up and down six flights of stairs and stand outside in the middle of winter wearing fewer layers than one would have brought to the symposium, had one known it would involve frequent treks outside.

I guess this makes me... normal?

For those who mocked my book tabbing, I just wanted to point out there are people out there even crazier than me

Shown here is the one I've found so far.

Lets see that again close up.

In comparison, my book looks tame.

And it was raining on the way to school too

Looking at a long day of Brief writing for Moot Court. No one is too happy about this.

The truth comes out.

Sadly I now suspect AARP doesn't want me for me, they want me for the riches of my cookbook empire.

Thanks to Jennifer for alerting me to the nefarious plot.

The AARP doubleteam

About a month after I sent off my AARP membership without the money I got a letter welcoming me, with the attached list of member benefits, and asking me to send in the money so they could send me my membership packet.

Having read through the member benefits, I decided to not take advantage of the offer, as the highlight of the member benefits was the opportunity to take a defensive driving class. Having no interest in defensive driving, and currently no car, this had a rather low appeal.

This seemed to make AARP very sad, as they not only continued sending me the initial letters (why haven't you joined yet) but also began sending many, many notices asking me to please pay.

In the FINAL NOTICE (which I received this morning) my buddy, William Novelli, said he was confused why he hadn't heard from me yet.
Sorry William, maybe in 24 years.

Cause you need oxygen to breathe

We're now ready for a tentative prognosis.

I had been deeply depressed at my inability to grow any plants in my apartment. I grieved individually over each of the 24 spider plants I managed to kill last year. Today, however, I am proud to report that the plant I got a couple weeks ago is still alive, and growing more leaves.

Of course, some of the spider plants lived for months before succumbing. Still, I would say the situation has at least moved from critical to fair.
